Say it Out Loud

Supported by Wyndham City Council this program focuses on developing a new script for performance. We will be tapping into the Wyndham community to involve their diverse stories around social, community, family issues, racism, sexual health and more.

The draft script ‘Vivaldi’s Park’ created by the 2021 Say It Out Loud group, will be the basis for the 2023 program and will be developed and taken to full production level.

  • Ages 16-25

  • Two sessions per week for 12 weeks, commencing August 2nd to October 21st.

  • Wednesday 4-6pm plus Saturdays 10-1pm.

  • Rehearsals - Crossroads hall (corner Duncans Road and Synnot Street, Werribee)

  • Final performance venue TBC.

  • Fees – TBC. This program is supported by Wyndham City Council so fees will be either nil or minimal.

Jumping In

Focussing on learning many aspects of theatre around confidence, energy, comedy and improvisation. There will be a performance in the final week showcasing the short pieces that have been worked on throughout the program

  • 12-16-Year-olds.

  • One session per week for 9 weeks commencing April 26th – June 23rd

  • Wednesdays 4-6pm

  • Rehearsals - Crossroads hall (corner Duncans Road and Synnot Street, Werribee)

  • Final performance Friday, June 23 rd at Crossroads Theatre.

  • Fees – $360 (Covers all 10 Sessions)

Shaking Up Shakespeare

Shaking up Shakespeare is a 12-week actor training course culminating in a performance of selected scenes from Shakespeare, with a combination of monologues, two-handed and three-handed scenes.

Within the course, young actors will be specifically coached in classical theatre techniques enabling a closer connection and ability to connect to and work with Shakespeare. Within the course, in addition to techniques to access classical character and text exploration, students will be exposed to Commedia De’ll Arte, Stage combat, and movement techniques.

  • Ages 17+

  • Two sessions per week for 12 weeks commencing August 23 rd to November 9th

  • Wednesday -6-9pm plus Saturdays 1-4pm

  • Rehearsals - Crossroads Hall (corner of Duncans Road and Synnot Street, Werribee)

  • Final performance of selected Shakespeare scenes on Thursday, November 9th, at Wyndham Cultural Centre, Watton Street, Werribee
