Founded by Alaine Beek 2003, her company has a
theatrical residency at Werribee Park where she
has performed her plays ‘What Was That’ and
‘Down to Earth’ each weekend since 2003.
Alaine is the author and producer of the plays and is
also one of her team of eight actors. Alaine has written
other plays including ‘Shepherd Kings’ and ‘The
Scrunch Test’ (winning awards at the 2017 Playhouse
Players National One Act Playwright competition).
Her play Point of No Return is based on the true story of the British Empire’s first attempt at a rehabilitating boys’ prison, Point Puer, Tasmania.
Alaine (through Essence Productions) has been working closely with the Werribee Secondary after hours Drama Club since 2014 and is Artistic Director of the Wyndham Theatre Company.
